"It was a great Sunday Afternoon, arriving hours early to check out the venue, and having fun with a candy crush birthday theme."
"A family celebrating the first birthday of their lovely daughter at QC Sports Club." One thing I love about birthdays is that you get to meet a wholehearted and kind family, and be part of their celebration. This December 8, 2013, I was able to cover that kind of event. Arriving on time, at Quezon City Sports Club around 5:30 P.M., I was welcomed by the parents of the celebrant and immediately the mother "Shine" told me what the party will be like. She said that there will be a magic show, an acrobats performance, and other fun activities. I started taking some pictures of the details, like the candy buffet, cake, gifts, table setting, buffet food (which was actually sumptuous), food carts, and play place at the event. One challenge was that the light at the reception has a very warm tone, and i have to be very picky with my white balance. Good thing the mom introduced me with another very talented photographer at the event, who is a good friend of hers. The photographer told me that he would be prioritizing the program, while I could do the guest and table shots. That was a very wise idea. A single photographer would really have a hard time covering an event with 200 guests. The event coordinator was also very nice "Bubblegum Parties & Events", they really guided me with the details of the party. As the event went by, I was able to capture some images of the blowing of the candle, the birthday celebrant "Gwen Hendrix" playing, portraits of friends and family, the acrobatic show, the magic show, and also the surprise guest performance of "John Paul" from "GMA Walang Tulugan". He also sang the Happy Birthday Song for the celebrant. All in all, it was a great birthday party, everyone was happy at the event, the food was great, I got some nice wacky shots and group shots, and the client was also very kind and generous. They even gave me three guitar balloons, and asked me if I was able to eat at the party. Clients who feed their suppliers at the event are always the best kind of people to serve, and I am hoping that I could once again be part of their future celebrations. |
