"After celebrating the yuletide season, a couple planned to finally tie the knot, with a simple wedding."
"We started at 11:00 p.m and ended at 5:00 a.m." One of my first weddings was with my friend Dale "A Photographer & Architect from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia" He comes home to the Philippines every year to visit his family, and also upgrade his photography portfolio. He visited me at my home asking if I could help him out with his pre-nuptial shoot for his brother. They arrived at our house at 5:00 p.m., and was asking if I know someone where we can get some gown rentals and makeup service. We quickly called our suppliers to help out. We decided to have a night photo session, because of the limited time. I decided to use a very simple setup, a camera and lens with no flash. Luckily we got some nice pictures from that session, and I am willing to do it once again. We started at 11:00 p.m and ended at 5:00 a.m. with a bulalo breakfast. "Brian & Mae asked me to do their pre-nup pictorial shoot, I suggested to do it at the carnival." Today I met up with Brian & Mae here at our home in Marikina City, we had arrangements to do a prenuptial photography session, or a post-nuptial to be exact. They arrived before lunch, and started to prepare for the shoot. They brought with them their suit and gown from the wedding, and we started doing some indoor shots at our living room. I felt that we need more exciting pictures, and suggested that we should also do an outdoor location shoot. It was unplanned and we don't have any previous plans for that. But I like the couple, and I want to give them something they can cherish their whole life together. Maybe a reminder that married life is more fun than a plain background on the wall. I was inspired to get some colorful shots today, so I decided to bring them to the carnival, knowing that its holiday season. When we got there, all I have to do is bribe the management so that we can use the carnival grounds as our personal playing field. for the pictorial. We had fun shooting with the horror train, the elephant carousel, with the bump cars and ticket booth. There were some mild rains, but it didn't stop us from completing the shoot. During the end of the session, Brian asked me to do one lost shot form them, it was something he always wanted to show her bride "wife". He opened up his shirt and revealed his true identity. He had a "Batman" costume underneath his clothes. Surprisingly, Mae loved it, and had a great time watching her hubby flex his superhero muscles. Time to head for lunch, the couple asked me for the nearest restaurant. I told them, that we could have lunch at the house and I can also show them the same respect and hospitality they gave me during their busy wedding day. "Thanks! Batman and Mae, I really wish you great years ahead." "She likes Beef Kare-Kare, he likes Dinuguan." When we arrived at their humble home at North Signal Village, Taguig City, the groom immediately offered us some lunch, showing off his massive collections of gundam toy robots, and superheroes figurines. The bride was also starting up on her make-up. The father of the groom was speaking "bisaya" to their house guests. I noticeably felt a warm family oriented feeling within the environment of their home. As we started our coverage, we gathered all their wedding details and used one of their rooms at the third floor of their home. Brian "the groom" shared us the wonderful "magnificent" plans for their wedding day. They wanted us to capture moments of who they really are and not just any same old staged act. Mae "the bride" was excited for us to get some shots of her wedding dress and "for rich people" accessories, while Brian was busy on the phone giving directions to guests to their wedding reception. The bride was a bit late on her schedule, so we went to the ceremony earlier than her, to capture all the beautiful flower details. Good thing that it was a christian wedding and that the reception and ceremony was in the same venue. At their wedding, the groom was wearing his mobster style look, a mix of Bruno Mars and Andres Bonifacio get up. While waiting for his bride, he was showing all happiness for the moments that were about to happen. The wedding was attended by a closed group of family and friends. It was a very private ceremony. Everyone at the wedding knows one another. They were all happy sharing stories about the couple. When the bride arrived at the venue, wearing her beautiful made gown, smiling, as she enters the ambient room, she was patiently searching for her groom. Walking down the aisle was one of the best parts of the event. The couple was so eager to get married, the groom can't wait to start. The pastor noticed one of the postcards at the table, and read about the couple: "She likes Beef Kare-Kare, he likes Dinuguan. She loves singing in the shower while he is a rapper. She spends her birthday at feeding programs in Caloocan City, and he joins balagtasn contests." After their first kiss as husband and wife, we went to a short pictorial session outside the venue. As the reception began, the newlyweds started with a surprise performance, singing "Your Love by Alamid", showing an old video of their karaoke session with the same song. At the end of the event, the couple gave everyone a great news. "She's 3 months pregnant. another addition to their start-up family." FROM THE COUPLE: |
